IMPORTANT

okay. last thing you have to do as part of the swap is when you receive your package. take pictures and post them on this blog!

it can be as many or as few as you like. take pictures of the package before you open it, lay it out and take pictures, show how you display/wear it. the possibilities are endless!

this is not optional. if you don't take pictures than i will drive (or fly) to where you are and take your pictures for you. and i won't make sure that your house looks clean in the background! hehe!
and for you procrastinators out there....don't worry. we are all last minute crafters too! :)

i am excited to see what everyone is working on!
i will send out your partners address this week. it is getting close!

a few more things. when you get your package. you have to take a picture of it and post it on the blog. this is such a fun part of it, because i know that we are all curious to see the beautiful things that each other have made.

the bulk of it should be hand-made, but don't be afraid to throw in some fun stuff like cupcake liners, mini flags, stickers...

and don't stress. this is supposed to be fun!!!:)

I spy.......something patriotic.

Did anybody else like the "I Spy" books when they were little?

There was a black page with a little hole cut out...through the hole you could see a tiny portion of the picture on the next page. Then you would turn the page, and....WOW! It was something completely different.

I thought it would be fun to play a little I Spy game with my swapping buddy. Sorry Crystal, you only get to see the small picture until your package arrives. Here's hoping that the "big picture" will wow you! :)

i've got it!

Speaking of “our personal pledge to duty, honor, country,” President Thomas S. Monson told some 19,000 people at a patriotic service on June 28 that those words were “our watchwords, whether in war or peace.”….Quoting Gen. Robert E. Lee of Civil War fame, President Monson said, ” ‘Duty is the sublimest word in our language. Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more; you should never wish to do less.’” He also quoted Harry Emerson Fosdick, a renowned Protestant minister and speaker, saying, “‘ Duty is never worthily performed until it is done by one who would gladly do more if he could.’”

So if your husband asks why you are spending your extra time, effort and money on this little patriotic craft swap you can sweetly reply,

" i am doing my duty to honor and celebrate this country and sustain our leaders and i just wish that there was more that i could do"

now off to find some more quotes...i wonder if any of the church leaders said anything about supporting your local target? :0)
