  10. Hello Genesee! So do you know Cat or Rebecca or both? I know them both from college, they are so wonderful! Well, a little about me...I have 2 1/2 kids 3 yr. old girl, 18 month old boy, and Baby #3 (not sure what yet but will post when we know). Married almost 9 yr, live in SC. I have 1 4th of July decoration (a table runner I made years ago)...so really I'm excited to get some new things and new ideas of how to decorate for the holiday! What about you, married? Kids? What style of decration do you like? What are you looking for in decrations?

  11. Hello Jeabri!
I know Rebecca first from our husbands being in the police acadamy together about 4 years ago, and now they work at the same department. Rebecca and I were pregnant at the same time with two of our children, which was really fun! And I met Catherine through Rebecca! And I have so enjoyed both of them!:)
    I have 3 kids:Brooklynn,5, Faith,3, and Lucas, 11 months.
I can feel you on the one 4th of july decorations....or lack there of:):) In fact I don't even know if I have one:)
I love old stuff! Anything antiqued, distressed, looks like it has been loved on(even if it's been newly made to looked loved on:).
I hope that answered your questions:)
Now what is your style, what would you like to add to your decoration collection? Does your little girl like to cook with you yet? Do you like to do a lot of baking? Is she a girly girl?? What are their names???
Can't wait to hear from you!!

  12. Genesse...I'm still finding my style, but as I've been looking around I'm more drawn to the vintage look too, some modern things are okay. I also love stars!I would love kid friendly decorations, as mine are so young and into everything. I would also love things to add to a table (center piece) or even picnic type things.Hope that helps.
My kids names are Mylee 3yrs and Dallin 19 months, Baby (we find out this week if girl or boy). Mylee loves to cook, at times I wish she would stay out of the kitchen. She is girly (loves bows). Dallin is really into cars and a boy through and through!
What about you, what kind of things would you like in your collection? Are your girls girly? into sports?
How fun that you and Rebecca were preg. together! I have two friends here that we had our boys together and now the three of us are pregnant again..it's fun!

  13. Rebecca - Tell me about you! I'm thinking I might be able to guess your taste of it's similar to Catherine's? Tell me about your kids. I think I remember you have a girl Freddy's age, but that's all I know. I like to make hairbows, so I'm wondering if you could use any? - Amy

  14. So excited about this! Thanks for organizing, Cat. Victoria, I know I met you at Catherine's wedding, but it's been a while! I'd love to know about you- how many kids, what your style is, what decorations you already have, etc. Let me know!!!

  15. Amy,

Yes! i love putting hairbows on my girlies. i have samantha(8)jeremy(5)rachel(3)and bennett(1). as for my taste...it IS pretty much the same as cat's, but i want to be surprised-i trust you! what about you? anything you just hate? because i am thinking about sending you a "precious moments" theme package, a few illegal fireworks for the little ones, or maybe even a calendar with different animals all dressed up in fourth of july outfits? hee hee ;)

  16. satoko.

are you more of a headband or necklace kind of girl?

    ReplyDelete
  17. oh and rebecca, i want a package of that lovely stuff too. sounds to die for. exactly what amy would like.

    right amy?

  18. Rebecca, Precious Moments and dressed up animals sound perfect! Haha! How did you even think of that? Sooo funny.

  19. Crystal -
    excited to swap with you.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier. We were on vacation (woohoo!!)
    Do you have kids? ages?
I'm mostly a jewelry, bow, paper crafter...but I love to make crafts so who knows what I will decide on.
    What do you like?

  20. Kid friendly I can handle...I think:)Are we talking the kind of kid friendly that might end up on the ground as a football, or just breakable proof??:):)
I really like hanging things, that is my kid-proofing:)
Brooklynn is a girly girl, but the next moment she might be jumping in a mud puddle, or playing baseball..... all while she is in her dress-up:):) She's so fun!Faith, I don't know about her yet, she does pretty much everything that Brookie does, so it is hard to tell:) Luke is in a league all of his own, the little man thing is completely new to me, but I love it!!
I have to clarify one thing.... I love the older antiqued things, my husband likes the new stuff, so we have a fun mixture of both in our house:)
Does your oldest girl have any hair things, does she like them? Does she have an apron? and for the table decoration, if I make one:):) What kinds of colors do you like? Would you want bright 4th of July colors, or more mild reds, blues, and whites...hopefully that made sense:)

  21. Genesee, Your girls sound fun! Your little boy sounds like mine too, he is so different than my daughter. This week we found out that we are having another girl. I'm getting excited already to meet her (but am glad to wait awhiel too).
Thanks for the clarification too, it helps! As far as kid friendly, If it's something that can not be hung up, it needs to be fairly durable..otherwise thigns that hang are always nice! Mylee does like hair bows, but can't get her to wear head bands yet, she doesn't really have much hair and it is really thin, so all I've done are bows so far.
Also when I said vintage, my house is not decorated that way, I just like the 4th of July decorations that have that look to them. As far as my house, we have no style yet..we still have old college furniture and toys everywhere!
Also you can surpise me with the table decrations and anything else! (mild reds and blues are more my taste, but again anything kind of goes because I don't have to match it to any other decrations, I don't have any! LOL). Hope all that helps, and I hope you'll like what I'm making...I'm not much of a craft person, just got into sewing last year, but am having fun being creative!

  22. Hey Jasmine,

So funny that you didn't respond until yesterday because today is the first day I have checked back. Anyway, I have 4 kids, 3 girls (4 mos, 6 and 8) and one boy who will be four next month. I love jewelry (I don't have a lot, I mostly wear the great stuff Catherine has made me). And could a little girl really ever have enough bows? Also, I too love paper crafts. I'm sure I'll love whatever you come up with.

So tell me more about you. Kids? What do you love? What could you do without?

  23. Crystal -
I have 3 kids (you and Cat are making me feel like a slacker *wink*)
    2 girls - 12 and 6
and a boy in the middle - 9
I like anything. Especially anything handmade. Sorry I know that doesn't help much, but just make what you like. I love surprise packages. :)

  24. at last...finally posting...hey, I think I am partners with Annie...are you out there Annie? Sorry I have been a flake! I would love to know what kinds of things you would like...kids...etc.

me...oh this is Sara btw. I have 3 kids, 5 and under, 2 boys and a girl, I don't have much 4th of July decor, so anything would be great besides the token holiday candy dish. I love modern stuff, but vintage too. I love cooking/baking as well.

Tell me more about you ANNIE and thanks to Cat for doing this!
